Photos of Hasselblad X1D Leaked:The First Mirrorless Medium Format Camera in the World

A few hours ago guys from Photorumors received a message from one of their users with leaked photos of Hasselblad X1D camera—the world's first mirrorless medium format camera—as well as some technical specifications and info on lenses. The official release of the camera is scheduled for tomorrow but you can have a peek into how this monster looks like and its features right now.

For a couple of last years in a row everyone on the web was telling that mirrorless cameras—which are a pretty new thing on the photography market—will grow into a big thing soon. And though at first it looked like 42.4 MP full-frame Sony a7R II camera is everything that one could ever dream of and like the industry of mirrorless cameras reached its pinnacle and won't produce anything better than that in a few years, Hasselblad decided to give us all a huge surprise.

Last week the elite camera producer said that it will announce a new secret camera on June 22, 14:00 CET, but someone managed to get hold of the camera photos and some technical details one day early. It turned out that Hasselblad is going to launch the world's first mirrorless camera fitted with a 50MP Sony 44×33mm medium format sensor. Surprising, isn't it? Let's see what this camera is about.

As you can see on the photos, the camera will have a pleasant design—with both retro and high-tech elements—as well as a viewfinder and LCD screen. The camera will be announced together with two lenses, Hasselblad XCD 45mm f/3.5 lens and Hasselblad XCD 90mm f/3.2 that are priced at $2295 and $2695, accordingly. Hasselblad X1D price definitely not for cheapskates as the camera costs $8895. What do you think about the new monster mirrorless? Share your opinion in comments.
